Falls man sich über merkwürdige Meldungen wie diese

imapd-ssl: malloc: Input/output error

im Syslog wundert, verschaffen folgende Worte Linderung:

/etc/init.d/portmap restart
/etc/init.d/fam restart
/etc/init.d/courier-authdaemon restart
/etc/init.d/courier-imap restart
/etc/init.d/courier-imap-ssl restart
/etc/init.d/courier-ldap restart
/etc/init.d/courier-pop restart
/etc/init.d/courier-pop-ssl restart

Nicht fragen warum, hat mir google ausgespuckt 😉

    Und für den Fall, dass du noch eine Erklärung für den Grund der Problematik haben möchtest:
    „The problem was that portmap had died some time ago, and I had restarted it. However, fam (that Courier IMAP uses to check for new files) hadn’t registered with the new portmap instance and was giving me the rather misleading ‚malloc: Input/output error‘. I restarted fam and it seems to be running fine now.“
